Moore named Accountancy Firm of the Year

Simon Gallagher

The awards celebrate London’s financial and business community and its most successful individuals and firms. This is the eighth year the awards have been held – and the first time that the Accountancy Firm of the Year accolade has been awarded to a firm from outside the largest six firms. The other short-listed firms this year were all from the Big 4 – PwC, EY, KPMG and Deloitte.

City A.M’s award winners were chosen by an expert panel of judges drawn from leading businesses and professional services firms. The judges were impressed by our values and strategy for growth – and the real growth we have achieved following our merger with Chantrey Vellacott in 2015. Their decision was also swayed by the impressive amount of press coverage we have attracted. Our experts frequently share their insights on important accounting, tax and business issues.

“One of our key values as a firm is about working and growing together,” says Simon Gallagher, managing partner, who collected the award on behalf of the firm. “We build relationships with our colleagues and our clients so that we can all develop and grow together. I’m delighted that our approach – and all the hard work by our partners and staff – has been recognised with this award.”

The City A.M. Awards 2017 were held on 9 November at the Grange Hotel, in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, and hosted by Julia Hartley-Brewer. Some 400 of the City's best-known figures attended. The event recognises the contribution of all the winners, nominees and their businesses to the dynamism and strength of our country’s economy and social fabric.
