Moore wins top school leaver awards

Elizabeth Stacey

Moore has won two top awards in The School Leaver Awards 2018 hosted by AllAboutSchoolLeavers: ‘Top Employer – Accounting & Professional Services’ and ‘Best Training Provider’.

The awards celebrate the Top 100 employers open to young people at the beginning of their careers. This year Moore earned a seventh place ranking in the Top 100, where placings are determined by the views of employees expressed through anonymous online surveys. Last year the firm came 99th in the Top 100.

The two awards build on this year’s ranking success and identify the real strength the firm has developed in training and supporting young people at the start of their careers.

The award for ‘Top Employer – Accounting & Professional Services’ is a great accolade for Moore, which saw off competition from other leading accounting firms including Big 4 players EY and PwC. “The award was sponsored by ICAEW and is the one that all our peers in the accountancy profession wanted to win,” says Elizabeth Stacey, Learning & Development Manager. “We are delighted that the effort we’ve put into making Moore a great place for people starting out their careers has been recognised – and recognised by the employees it’s designed to support.”

The award for ‘Best Training Provider’ was a joint win with First Intuition, the specialist accountancy tuition provider whose external services complement Moore’ own in-house Training Development Programme; TDP.  “This award recognises the high quality experience that our trainees enjoy both at First Intuition’s college and at Moore in the training we provide internally,” says Chloe Winer, Learning & Development Coordinator.

Moore was also short-listed for five other awards: ‘Best Level of Support’, ‘Best Higher Apprenticeship’, ‘Best Training’, ‘Top Employer – Medium School Leaver Intake’ and ‘Best Website’. All these successes were determined by employee feedback, apart from Best Website, which was judged by an independent panel.

The awards ceremony was held on Thursday 17 May at the Sheraton Grand on Park Lane, with awards presented by comedian Josh Widdicombe.
