Chichester Cathedral’s Festival of Flowers is a biennial event organised by Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust. The Festival attracts 15,000 visitors and has raised approximately £1million towards the cost of restoration work at Chichester Cathedral over the past twenty years. This year’s event is the 12th Festival of Flowers, and funds raised from this will support the re-covering and restoration of the Cathedral’s Roof, a major project which has recently commenced and is expected to take 5 years to complete.

Schools across Sussex were invited to produce a piece of artwork inspired by the title of the forthcoming Festival of Flowers at Chichester Cathedral ‘This Earthly Paradise’. Top prize winners Ava Munt of Arundel Church of England Primary School and Sebastian Chatzopoulos of Funtington Primary School received their prizes: vouchers for each of the children to spend on themselves and art workshops at Pallant House Gallery and Chichester Cathedral for their class from Louise Hastings.

The winning entries will be on display in the Café des Fleurs, southwest lawn, Chichester Cathedral during the Festival of Flowers, 31st May – 2nd June 2018.  Entry to the art exhibition is free.  Thereafter the entries will be on display in the Cathedral until 15th June.

The Festival of Flowers 2018 will be a three day spectacular: visitors will experience the beauty of Chichester Cathedral adorned with flowers and trees, a programme of live music, a Festival Fair, Plant Fair and Café des Fleurs. The Festival of Flowers will take place from 31st May – 2nd June 2018 (30th May Champagne Preview).
