Women in Business Conference

Robert Newman

On 8 March representatives from the Salisbury office attended the Women in Business Conference at Bowood Hotel & Spa.  This is the second year of the conference, to celebrate International Women's Day.

The event was aimed at women in business and those considering starting a business.  Robert Macdonald, Associate, who hosted the pop up exhibition slot with Debbie Jolliffe, was keen to promote how the Moore' Start Up Team can guide clients through the initial stages of starting a new business and provide them with ongoing services, to help them grow and manage their business.

Robert and Debbie invited delegates to enter the free prize draw to win Champagne Afternoon Tea for Two, at The Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa.  The lucky winner was Tracey Hanman of Sign Marketing UK Limited.

The day was very well attended and provided dedicated networking sessions and the chance to attend bespoke workshops.

The morning session included opening words by Fleur De Rhé Philipe, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member followed by an expert panel who portrayed their experiences and outlined the challenges and opportunities facing women in business today.

The keynote speaker for the afternoon was Sahar Hashemi OBE, Founder of Coffee Republic and Skinny Candy.  Sahar shared her captivating stories of the successes and challenges she has faced.

Credit goes to the organisers for arranging such a fantastic day to inspire and motivate women in business - Robert and Debbie hope to be back again next year.
