How long does it take to form a company?

Peter Richardson

According to Companies Made Simple it is currently taking Companies House around 15 hours to process limited company incorporations. This being the amount of time it takes for a company to be formed once the company information has been completed and the incorporation request has been sent to Companies House.

This increase in formation time can be put down to the fact that more companies are being formed now than ever before – which of course means an increase in the amount of formation requests that Companies House need to handle.

We’ve also noticed the rise in incorporation time correlates with the introduction of the ‘People with Significant Control Register. It is very possible that the increase is to do with more information now being recorded at Companies House.
