Quiz Night Raises Funds for Local Charity

Chris Goodwin

Moore Guildford office organised a quiz night at The Albany, which took place on Monday, 17 October 2016, to raise funds for local charity, the Samson Centre for MS.

16 teams comprising 80 business people from solicitors, banks, and other local organisations pitted their wits against each other at what was an excellent and fun event.  The evening included a curry, heads and tails, several rounds of quiz questions and a raffle.

The Samson Centre for MS provides over 3,500 physiotherapy sessions, almost 4,000 exercise classes, over 2,500 gym sessions and approximately 2,500 oxygen therapy treatments to people who are living with multiple sclerosis in Surrey and the surrounding areas.  The oxygen therapy sessions are most popular as they can provide respite and improvement from distressing symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis.  The charity is looking to extend and improve its oxygen therapy provision and as part of that process they will require vital "ring main" pipework within their new six person chamber before it can be operational and the funds raised on the night of over £1,200 will be used for this.

Jackie Payne, the Centre Manager said, “The new oxygen chamber will make a great difference to our members and we are very grateful to everyone who took part to raise funds for the pipework”.

Moore Guildford Partner, Chris Goodwin said:  “We had a tremendous evening and are delighted to have raised these funds.  Thanks to Chris Gooding we heard first hand how the oxygen therapy sessions can make a huge difference to someone’s life.   I would like to thank everyone who took part for their generosity and support at this event.  Congratulations go to the winning team from DMH Stallard.”
