Isle Of Wight Macmillan Coffee Morning

Esme Shakeshaft

People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan, in order to support them as a charity.  Events such as the coffee morning are a real driving force for Macmillan as it helped them raise an incredible £27.5 million in 2019.  With these past months being extremely difficult for those affected by cancer, we at Moore (South) wanted to make a real effort in aid of Macmillan who do such great work in supporting those affected.

On the 25th September 2020 our Isle of Wight office spent the morning delivering cakes from the Island Cake Studio to local businesses at a safe distance.  A number of businesses were kind enough to make a donation to the cause which helps Macmillan provide medical, emotional, financial and practical help for cancer patients, from specialist cancer nurses to grants for cancer patients with money problems.  We understand that not all companies are in the position to make a donation and it makes us even more grateful to the companies who have contributed to our fundraising effort.

Sue Lucas, partner at the Isle of Wight office, said: "This has been a great community experience for all of us here, understanding the fantastic work that Macmillan do and being able to support that is amazing.  We would like to say a massive thank you to the kind businesses in and around the Newport area."

The Isle of Wight office raised £500.00 on their Macmillan Coffee Morning and are thankful to those businesses that took part, despite the current circumstances.
