Moore (South) run the Brighton Marathon in aid of The Sussex Snowdrop Trust

Matthew Bather

On Sunday 10 April 2022 Moore (South) team members Matthew Bather, Andy Tanner and Gemma Warr took part and successfully completed the Brighton marathon. The team trained tirelessly in preparation for the marathon while also raising funds for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, in total they managed to raise an incredible £2275.00 and Moore (South) will also be matching that donation making it up to £4,550.00.

Matt, Andy and Gemma were supported on the day by in-house IT expert Julie Sinsbury and James McFiggins who cheered them on from the side-lines. We would also like to thank Game, Set & Match for supplying our runners with printed shirts of great quality. The shirts looked fantastic on the day and allowed for some great pictures which you can find further below.

Matthew Bather, Partner in our Chichester office and Brighton Marathon finisher commented “The team took a lot of care in choosing the charity to raise funds for and were all united in the decision to choose The Sussex Snowdrop Trust. We have received great support from the Trust itself and also the Moore (South) team members, family, and friends.  I would like to thank all those whose donations and support, motivated  Andy, Gemma and I to the finish line.”

There were perfect racing conditions and record size crowds for an amazing day of racing. 8,600 marathon runners competed which included our three fantastic team members. The event itself raised over £1.8m via JustGiving with more expected to be raised over the coming weeks. The Sussex Snowdrop Trust is a unique charity providing 'Nursing Care at Home' for local children who have a life-limiting or life-threatening illness. The Trust is based in the Chichester area of West Sussex and provides children’s community nurses, health care assistants, emotional support from counsellors and financial help for families who care for very sick children.

Sue Lucas, Group Chair of Moore South remarked “I am immensely proud of the entire team for raising so much for such a worthy cause and Moore (South) are delighted to be able to match the donation. Post-pandemic we have been even more focused in ensuring we are giving back to our local communities and doing what we can to help the people and businesses. Moore (South) are actively part of Moore Social Ambition which is a driving force for positive social impact across multiple areas. As a firm we hope to continue supporting charities and local initiatives in our five local geographical areas and will support our team members in doing so too.”
