Quiz night raises over £4,000 for Children's Charity

Stuart Datlen

Southampton based chartered accountants Moore organised a charity quiz night at The New Forest Hotel, Ashurst and raised over £4,000 for the local Honeypot Children’s Charity.

In attendance were thirteen teams, comprising of over eighty people from banks, firms of solicitors and financial advisers, who battled it out in a Beatles themed quiz, put together by the Moore team. The evening included a hog roast and winter bbq, served by The New Forest Hotel.

The Honeypot Children’s Charity also attended the evening, along with their well-known mascot Bumble, greeting teams as they arrived.

In order to boost the fundraising on the night, teams then participated in a raffle with some generous prizes donated from local Southampton businesses. The amount raised was then doubled, thanks to generous match funding from Barclays.

Moore (South) LLP eventually crowned Trethowans as first place winners. The team collected their trophy and a bottle of wine each on the evening.

Southampton managing partner Stuart Datlen said:
‘It was a thoroughly enjoyable night and a real contest for all the teams. We are delighted to have raised a large sum for The Honeypot Children’s Charity and we know that this money will go a long way in enhancing the lives of young carers and vulnerable children.’
