Insurance Regulatory eBulletin - January 2019

Welcome to our Insurance Regulatory eBulletin

Welcome to the latest (and final edition) of Moore' Insurance Regulatory eBulletin, which aims to keep you updated with significant regulatory developments and their implications across the insurance sector. Future editions will be published by BDO as a result of the merger of Moore and BDO which takes effect at midnight on 1 February. I hope you enjoy reading this latest update and we hope you will continue to do so in future.

2019 promises to be as busy as ever from a regulatory perspective. In late December, EIOPA issued a flurry of year end reports and calls for input into future regulatory reviews. The SMCR has been the subject of both PRA and FCA publication, as has the need for continuing Brexit preparations. The FCA has also issued a series of communications on misleading financial promotions and has published its Annual Sector Views which will inform its 2019/20 Business Plan. It has also started the new year with an enforcement big bang by imposing £79 million of fines on two individuals involved in the KeyData affair.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or your normal Moore contact if you have any concerns over any matter highlighted in this update.
