Kate's background prior to joining Moore Insight, is a unique mix of experience in journalism, marketing, business development and accounting. Originally qualifying from The University of Sheffield in 2008 as a BBC-accredited Journalist (BA Hons - 2:1), her training involved journalism law, ethics, newspaper and magazine editorial, marketing, PR and broadcast journalism. Throughout and after university, she became passionate about community and grassroots journalism. She worked voluntarily at a number of local newspapers and regional magazines, before focusing on developing community-initiatives and events in partnership with sporting organisations, SME's and NFP's. She went on to create a community network to help local families get active through an online directory and forum, which also focused on promoting SME's and NFP's.

After having two children in close succession, Kate decided to pursue a career in business and accounting. Working within a small accounting firm for 2 years, she was quickly promoted to Business Development Director and increased the company's revenues with improvements to business operations, marketing and digitalisation of the business, as well as improving the client satisfaction rates and involving the firm in social responsibility efforts. In 2017, she completed her AAT's to Level 4 (part finished). During this time, she also set up her own Marketing and Communications company to further support clients and continue her work with NFP's, most notably, for the Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group based in Nottingham.

In her current role at Moore Insight, she leads a small team day-to-day with managing bids, building client relationships, managing the marketing and communications activities of the firm and handling client contracts, but she continues with a strong focus on social impact.

In 2020, she was asked to lead on Moore Global's Social Ambition initiative, the sixth part of the strategy for the network, alongside the Moore Global leadership team and the Social Ambition team that she has pulled together from across the globe.

She also leads on the delivery of Social Value for projects that Moore Insight undertakes, creating innovative and focused plans for helping public sector clients achieve their Social, Economic and Environmental challenges, most recently, for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. She developed a standard methodology and approach to deliver the outcomes and address key challenges, working in collaboration with the community, colleges, schools, charities and other organisations.
