Small business grant scheme (NAV < £15K)

Overview

£10,000 cash grant (increased from £3,000)

Payment of grants has begun, with payment being made to those businesses which LPS hold bank details for. If you have not heard from LPS please contact them 0300 200 7809. You can also provide your bank details to LPS here.
 

Eligibility

Business property with net annual value < £15,000

Those who qualify for Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR)

Eligibility restrictions include:
 
  • manufacturing firms
  • vacant properties
  • MLA Constituency offices
  • Businesses with 3 or less premises will only be eligible for one grant of £10,000 in total
  • Businesses with more than 3 properies are not eligible for SBRR, therefore not eligible for the grant

How to apply

The Department of Economy holds your bank details and you are eligible.
                                            
If you are eligible and you pay your rates by Direct Debit, the grant will be made directly into your bank account.
                                            
Small Business Support Grant Scheme payments have started to be received.                                      
                                            
If automatic payment has not been received and you are eligible.
     
Please provide your bank details to the Department of  Finance via the form here.
 

What you will need

  • Your Ratepayer ID (shown on your rate bill)
  • Your Occupancy ID (shown on your rate bill)
  • Your sort code
  • Your bank or building society account number
  • Your e-mail address
LPS aim to issue email confirmations within a week of receiving an online application form.
 

Already completed an online form?

If you have already registered for the scheme and provided details using the online form, your details are currently being checked. If everything is in order, you will receive an email confirming that the grant payment has been issued. 

If you are not eligible to receive the grant or if there has been a problem with your registration, you will receive an email explaining why.

For businesses completing the online form 

Businesses should be aware that: 
  • If any information provided with your registration form is later found to be false, repayment of funding may be required.
  • Any payment must be declared to HMRC as appropriate as part of the tax return for the business.
  • The grants constitute State Aid. You will be asked to confirm that you agree to the State Aid Requirements when completing the online form.
Rental property where the landlord pays the rates
 

For rental properties with a sole tenant and properties with a total NAV of £1,590 or below, further information is required to ensure that that the grant is  
being paid to the small business who occupies the property, and not a landlord or letting agent. 
 
In this case, businesses should use the online form for rental properties with a sole tenant and properties with a Total Net Annual Value of £1,590 or below.
