Tax Manager






Reporting to the tax partner and leading a small team, you will be involved in providing tax services to both corporate and personal tax clients. Able to work independently and as part of a team you will be responsible for processing tax returns and reviewing work from the tax and accounts teams to strict deadlines ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations. 


Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and reviewing Corporation, partnership and personal tax returns
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting fee earners with this work
  • Managing workflow to ensure deadlines are met
  • Supervising and training junior members of the team
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues within the firm
  • Support fee earners by researching and answering technical tax queries 


We seek a passionate and enthusiastic individual with strong numeracy and literacy skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate would need experience of working on complex tax returns, allocating work and training junior staff.


Applicants should be CTA qualified or equivalent and have been employed as a tax supervisor or manager. 


  • At least 2 years’ tax experience within practice
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining high level of accuracy
  • Previous experience of supervising and training junior staff
  • Proven planning and prioritising skills
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills
  • Keen to add value to clients’ businesses
  • Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios

  • Excellent organisational skills & attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of GDPR regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
