About the Role

Moore (South) Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers are currently looking for a qualified accountant to manage a client portfolio from our growing Southampton office, in Ocean Village.

If you have experience of working in a busy accounting practice and are used to working to tight deadlines whilst managing a varied workload, you could be just the person we are looking for.  Ideally qualified ICAEW or ACCA, you will be working on all aspects of accountancy, with a strong focus on personal tax and business tax. We are looking for a person who is capable of running a mixed client portfolio and who is ambitious to develop their career. You must have experience of working in a practice environment and be able to travel both to clients and other offices.

Requirements for this position:

A minimum of 3 years post qualified experience within a practice environment including:

  • Preparation of Limited Company, LLP's, partnership and sole trader accounts
  • ICAEW/ACCA fully qualified
  • An in depth, technical knowledge and experience of Xero, Quickbooks, Sage and other accounting software
  • Technical abilities to understand Cloud based software
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, and able to work independently but also thrives in a team environment
  • Confidence in communicating with and supporting clients, accountants and the team, both verbally and written
  • Displays hard working ethics and a professional nature
  • Develop new client relationships and maintain existing client relationships
  • Well organised with a high attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • An appetite to develop and advance your skills, keeping up with the latest technical advances that come with fully digitalised accounting

About you

  • ICAEW/ACCA Fully qualified
  • Knowledge of tax compliance
  • A broad understanding of entrepreneurial type clients and issues facing owner managed businesses would be advantageous, understanding their accountancy requirements
  • Qualifications in cloud accounting software’s and applications e.g. Xero, Quickbooks, Sage
