Has upgrading to Windows 10 affected your date format on Sage?

Esme Shakeshaft

Microsoft are currently being criticised due to the forcefulness in recommended users to upgrade to Windows 10.

The reason for this is that it has had a domino effect on software running on previous versions of Windows and one piece of accounting software that has been effected is SAGE.

Sage users have found that the date format is now incorrect after upgrading to Windows 10, changing the format from DD/MM/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY. Many users have noticed processing issues or error messages.

In order to resolve this, you must change your time and language setting in Windows 10.

  1. Windows key + I > Time & language.
  2. In the right-hand pane > Time zone > choose (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London.
  3. Scroll down, under Formats, click Change Date and Time Formats.
  4. Short date > choose DD/MM/YYYY > Long date > choose DD/MMMM/YYYY.
  5. Click the back arrow in the top-left corner > in the left-hand pane click Region & language.
  6. Under Country or region, choose United Kingdom.
  7. Close the Settings window > close all open programs > restart your computer.
  8. If you need further help changing your Windows 10 settings, please refer to the Microsoft support site
